Chapter 2 - Verse 11-14
Now it speaks of the distinctions in worldly life:
Those with a mind and those without a mind, 11
The immobile beings of the earth, water, and plants, 13
The mobile beings like fire, air, and two-sensed beings are the moving beings, 14
So, the worldly living beings are of two types: with mind and without mind.
In the same way, there are the mobile and immobile beings.
The beings of the earth, water, and plants are immobile.
The beings of fire, air, and two-sensed are the mobile beings.
Worldly beings are also infinite. They have been classified in brief; and it is done in that way as well. The first classification is based on the relationship and non-relationship with the mind; that is, two classifications are made: those with mind and those without mind, which include all worldly beings. The second classification is made on the basis of mobility and immobility, that is, one is mobile and the other is immobile. In this classification, all worldly beings are included as well.
Question: What is meant by 'mind'?
Answer: It is that which has the power to think, and that power assists in thinking.
