Tattvartha Sutra
There can be no distinction in practice between right belief and wrong belief.
Q: What is the explanation of the distinctions mentioned above?
A: The eight types of knowledge have already been explained. The four types of clairvoyance are as follows: 1. Clairvoyance that arises from common sensory perception is called 'Chaturdana.' 2. Clairvoyance that arises from perception without eyes (using any sense or mind) is called 'Achakshun.' 3. Clairvoyance obtained through a limited perception of the material object is called 'Avadhi Darshan.' 4. Clairvoyance obtained through complete perception of all substances is called 'Kevala Darshan.'
Now it speaks of the division of living beings: "Samdharina Muktashcha." There are two divisions: worldly beings and liberated beings.
Living beings are infinite. In their sentient form, they are all the same. Here, they are divided into two categories based on certain specifics; that is, those having a worldly nature and those devoid of worldly nature. The former type of living beings is called worldly, and the latter type is called liberated.
Q: What is 'Samsara'?
Samsara is the state of being in the cycle of birth and death.
Material bondage and emotional bondage are specific kinds of relationships categorized as "material bondage" and emotional attachments like attachment and aversion, which are categorized as "emotional bondage."
