For example, in the commentary on the first sutra of the first chapter, it is written about the word "samyak" that "samyak is a derivation or is derived from the root 'gā' with the prefix 'sama'." In this same context, Sarvarthasiddhikara writes that "the word 'samyak' is unproduced, meaning it's undifferentiated without derivation, or produced means it is derived from both the root and suffix combining to be established purposefully." When the root "ma" is combined with the suffix "kiva," the word "samyak" is formed. The explanation regarding the word "samyak" in the commentary is clearly articulated in two styles. Similarly, in the commentary, it merely states that the derivation of the word "darshan" is that "darshan" is the form of the root 'dashi'; whereas, in Siddhi, the derivation of the word "darshan" is shown in three ways. The derivation of the words "jnana" and "charitra" is not clearly explained in the commentary; however, in Siddhi, the derivation of both these words is clarified in three ways, and then supported from a Jain perspective. Likewise, there is no discussion in the commentary regarding which comes first in the compound of the words "darshan" and "jnana," whereas it is made clear in Siddhi. Similarly, in the commentary on the second sutra of the first chapter, only two meanings of the word "tattva" are suggested, while in Siddhi both meanings are elaborated, and it also describes how to interpret the root "dashi," which is not addressed in the commentary.
