According to our vast understanding, we began the work, and the desired assistance came progressively. However, before they could settle, one by one, they scattered in different directions like birds and eventually, I was left alone in Agra. The work of 'Tattvartha' that had been initiated and other tasks were impossible for me to complete alone, and no matter how I tried, I was unable to remain silent. Observing the unity and attraction of friends, I left Agra and came to Ahmedabad. There, I took up the work of Sanmatitarka, and the few verses I had written in Agra regarding Tattvartha remained as they were.
While I was working on Sanmatitarka in Bhavnagar during the years 1921-22, thoughts of the unfinished work of Tattvartha would occasionally cross my mind, causing unrest. Despite having the mental material, the lack of desired supportive friends led me to set aside the initially determined large body of analysis for 'Tattvartha' from my mind, which reduced the burden somewhat, but I could not completely let go of that work. Therefore, due to health reasons, when I took a break and returned to my ancestral village of Vatsukad near Bhavnagar, I once again took up the work of Tattvartha and began working in a medium path to condense its vast body. During this period of rest, I wrote something at different places. Although it was written at that time, the method became clear in my mind, and I gained confidence that I could write even alone sometimes.
