Dravya and Paryay
• Dravya (Substance)
Every substance in the universe continuously changes its form. During the modification process, its certain qualities or properties remains unchanged. Collectively
the unchanged qualities are called as Dravya. • Paryaya (Modification or Form) - Each substance in the universe continuously modifies its
form. This form is called Paryay of that substance at that
time. Dravya and Paryay are inseparable. - e.g. Bengal is a Paryay, Gold is a Dravya
