PREFACE,
The circumstances under which the present work ivas written appears at the conclusion, they need no mention. It is hoped that the present translation will be the means of enlarging its circle of readers, more especially as the original Hindi is at best confined within Darrower limits than English. It treats on the doctrine of non-duality, and though not exhaustive, yet it is convincing. To the beginner it will be of much help, as it will enable him to form a correct idea of what Vedantism teaches and its aspiration.
