Srîpattana is Anbilväd or Pattan, the old capital of Gujarāt, and the date corresponds according to Dr. Schram's calculation to November 30, 1419, which was a Thursday.
V., MS. I, 306 (I, 87703) fols. 15, presented by Ilofrath Bühler to the library of the Vienna University, and lent to me with the permission of the donor for this edition. The text, which is written in tho middle of the pages, ends:___ इति प्रभुश्रीहेमचन्द्रसूरिविरचितमुणादिगणसूत्रं संपूर्णम् ।। संवत् १६३४ वर्षे आसु ०] शु० ५ वार सोमे लिखि || वा० श्रीहेमशीलगणिशिष्यमुनिविश्रामेण || शुभं भवतु कल्याणमस्तु ।
'The commentary ends :--
इति उणादिगणसूत्रावचूरिः ।। संपूर्णा विजयशीलगणिनालेखि ॥ शुभं भवतु || छ || श्रीरस्तु || छ || श्रीमा ......
In accordance with the meaning of the title Arachūri, the glosses contai only an abstract of the fuller explanation in the two other MSS. B and moreover, they frequently differ from the latter by giving other synonym for the words etymologized. All these latter deviations have been entered in the Notes, while, of course, no mention has been made of the omissions Bat, in order to give an idea, how the author of the Avachūri has treated the commentary, I print here in parallel columns the text of the two version on the Sutras 191 and 699 :-- Edition.
