Shri Kshatriyakund Tirth
Shri Kshatriyakund tirth is the sacred land of Kalyanaks (auspicious events) of Shri Bhagwan Mahavir-Chyavankulnayak, Janmakalyanak and Dikshakalyanak. He spent the first three decades of his life on this sacred land. It is 81 km from Pavapuri, 56 km from Guniyaji and 30 km from the Lakhisarai, Jamui, and Kiyul stations. Not many knew about the exact location of the birth place of Mahavir. Some believed Vasukund in Muzzafarpur to be Kshatriyakund, especially the western scholars. In fact he was born in Kshatriyakund near Lachhvadatt. It was called so because it was the capital of Lichhavi kings. In the tirth there is the idol of Mahavir, in meditative sitting posture, 60 cm high, in black colour. This ancient idol is a fine specimen of craftsmanship and its sight
