This institute with its name as Kundakunda Jñanapiṭha was formally founded on October 19, 1987, when the whole India was celebrating the 2000th birth year of Acārya Kundakunda. It always feels glorified by having its association with Acārya Kundakunda not only by its name but also by the activities which promote the philosophy elaborated by Acārya Kundakunda. Professor Agrawal has been serving this Jñanapiṭha as a member of Board of Directors (or as a member of the editorial board of its quarterly research journal, Arhat Vacan) since 1987. Therefore, by this scholarly work of international importance, this institute also feels glorified and we feel a great pleasure in publishing this work. Out of 415 stanzas of Samayasara, this book (Soul Science: Samayasara by Jain Acārya Kundakunda, Part I) covers first 144 stanzas. We look forward to publish the remaining stanzas as soon as possible, and are waiting for the completion of the work by the author.
