Preface
The dictionary of technical terms of architecture, whaeology, fine arts and history provides an easy knowledge w the students and common people alike. The students feel a ; reat difficulty in knowing the meaning of these technical ...ms. It is also not easy for them to consult a voluminous
" na., .s rh is beyond their means. He therefore, stands in need of a dictionary which can provide meaning of these terms in an easy and comprehensible manner and still, is not beyond their means.
As the subject of architecture is exhaustive, some additional information is provided in the form of three subsections as mentioned below(A) General Architectural Terms
(with meaning in English in English alphabetical order) (B) General Architectural Terms
(with English meaning - Another version) (C) Temple Architectural Terms
(with both Hindi and English meaning and Hindi alphabatic order)
There seems to be some repeatation but as the technical words are provided in different alphabetical orders for the benefit and convenience of the readers some amount of repetation is unavoidable. The second part contains the Hindi meaning of the terms of Archaelogy and the third the terms of Fine Arts in the same way. The fourth part contains terms of History.
It is hoped that the dictionary will prove useful for the students as well as for general reader.
