The seed of the Supreme Status is generally sown in the presence of a living Tirthamkara Himself, It is His example presumably that fires the mind and stirs up the imagination! Bajranābhi, too, had his imagination fired by the example of his father who had become a Tirthamkara. He longed to become a Tiithamkara himself, to save all who were involved in suffering and misery in the samsára (transmigration). Henceforth to carry enlightenment and joy to all became his noble mission in life. He had already succeeded in bringing his lower self under his control; but now he recoubled his efforts to attain to erfection in self-abnegation and in impassibility. His life, as a saint, was characterized by watchfulness, study and investigation of Truth, penances and fists, service of saints, and by rigid self-denial, generally. He loosened bis evil kurmas considerably, and acquired the true scientific insight into the ciuses of embodiment and suffering, that is, Right Faith. · At the end of his life, Bajranābhi performed the auspicious sallekhana, that is coveted by all seekers after em incipation from the clutches of calamity and death. He rose to the reign of the super-heavens. 10.
