Recent archaeological investigations conducted in certain parts of Tamilnadu have brought to light some interesting lighic records, cave shelters and sculptures hither to unknown. Siddharmalai near Méttupatti in Madurai district is the earliest hill-resort in Southern Tamiinadu.
