________________ The Embodied Image Communion with the disembodied being, as much as an apprehension of it, cannot be attained before realizing a feeling of oneness with the spirit of the disembodied. As long as our impulsions have not been duly disenchanted, but are linked with form, there is not merely a positive need of the embodied image, there is, indeed, an implicit necessity of it. Physician-Preceptor As you would consult a physician to heal the disease of your body, so you must approach your preceptor to heal the malaise of your soul. As you would follow a treatment prescribed by your doctor, even so, you may build up a life of exemplary conduct, placing implicit faith in the guidance of your preceptor. As you get physical relief by the treatment of your physician, you may equally attain spiritual composure under the direction of your preceptor. Far more valuable is spiritual equanimity, indeed, than sheer physical relief. Forget not that without the gift of spiritual repose, mere physical relief would be but transitory.
