On this day begins also for the Digambara the 10 days festival called “Daśalaksaņa parva” which is similar to the Svetāmbara “Paryūṣaṇa parva". They celebrate on this occasion the ten basic virtues of the laity. The 7th day is “Sila saptami" or "Nirdosa saptami” that includes also a fast. The 8th day is the commemoration of Puspadanta's liberation. The 10th day is “Sugandhā daśami” that consists of fast and burning incense in front of statues of the Jina. The 11h day is a fast called “Ananta vrata”, the 12ch day is called “dugdha rasa” and, on the 13th day “Ratnatraya vrata “begins. It lasts three days and is marked by venerations and meditations on the "three jewels". The 14" day is “Ananta caturdaśi" the most sacred of these ten days for the Digambara when men and women, young and old, fast, confess their sins and worship the Jina. It is also the commemoration of Vāsupūjya's liberation. • Lunar month of “Asvina" (September / October) The 1st day of the dark fortnight of this month, it is for the Digambara the day of universal forgiveness called “Kșamāvaņi”. They practice the same ritual as the Svetämbara for their “Samvatsaripratikramana”. From the 7th to the 15th day of the bright fortnight of "Asvina" it is “Ayambila oli” with bland foods. The 8th day is the commemoration of Śītala's liberation. The 15th day is full moon and the big festival of “Asvina pūrņimă” with fasts. • Lunar month of “Kārtika” (October / November) The 10h day of the dark fortnight of this month some Jains celebrate Mahāvīra's renunciation to the world. The 13h day Jains celebrate “Dhanaterasa” the anniversary of the travelling of Mahāvīra to Pava where he attained liberation. Jains send cards to their relativess, friends and acquaintances wishing to them the days coming a “Happy Divali and a prosperous New Year!" It is also the anniversary of Padmaprabha's birth.
