What is meant by husk? Pul ka literally means empty or shelled grain. The saint, whose mind is devoid of the practice of even observance of secondary vows (of the ascetic) and who sometimes lapses (at some places or times) in perfect observance of even the primary vows (of the ascetic) is called husk.
