24th Medical Camp at Bidada (Kutch)
January 6 to 19, 1998 Shree Bidada Sarvodaya Trust has organized charitable medical camps for the past 23 years. It started with eye and dental camps in 1975 and later cardiac and E.N.T. were added. The hospital was established in 1985 and then other surgical specialties: Orthopedics, Urology, Gynecology all were added. In 23 years the Trust has treated more than one million people and operated on 30,000 patients.
JAINA participated in this humanitarian work in 1992, and collected donations from N. America. Since then Jain Center of S. California is carrying on this humanitarian work, collecting funds and medical equipment and sends it over to the Trust. Mr. Vijay Chedda, Navin Gangar and Dr. Manibhai Mehta of J. Center of S. California Co-ordinate presently for this project.
Dr. Manibhai Mehta, Jaina's Past President, Dr.Dhiraj Shah, President, Dr. Pravin Mehta, Dr. Shanti Kenia, Dr. C. Haria, and many other doctors and volunteers have been attending this camp since 1992 and giving their services at their own expense. At 23rd camp Virendra Shah and Sumati Shah, President, and Vice-President of Jain Center of S.California visited the camp and both were amazed at the work and management of the camp for 15 days.
