How is Gelatin Made?
The American Heritage Dictionary defines Gelatin as: a colorless or slightly yellow, transparent, brittle protein formed by boiling specially prepared skin, bones, and connective tissue of animals. It is used in jell-o, marshmallow, most typical ice cream, and may drug capsules.

A Vegetarian Bus Driver Refuses to promote Burgers
The case goes to court! Bruce Anderson, a vegan bus driver in Costa Mea, California, has taken an ethical stand with his employer, the Orange County Transportation Authority. He has been suspended without pay for refusing to hand out free hamburger coupons to passengers. Bruce is glad about one thing: "What I did probably saved at least half a cow." Ava Park, founder of Orange County People for Animals, a local animal rights group, denounced the county decision, as completely out of bounds." Anderson is one of 2,300 member of this group. Anderson's supervisor gave him the coupons to hand out, offering a free hamburger at a restaurant as a part of a promotion to get more people to ride the bus. Anderson told his supervisor, “I don't eat dead cows, and no one else needs to either." A half an hour later, Anderson was replaced and suspended.
People for Animals and Anderson have challenged the deci sion in court, invoking the First Amendment and Civil Rights, because he has been a vegan for more than two years. All animals thank Bruce Anderson.

The New Federal Guidelines support Vegetarianism
Finally we are right! As a result of hundreds of studies and recommendations of many expert panels, finally the federal government has endorsed vegetarian diets! The new "Dietary Guidelines for Americans" now contain two key provisions:
Choose a diet with: plenty of grain products, vegetables and fruits and one that is low in fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol.
These guidelines have been published by the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services and the Department of Agriculture since 1980. They enjoy a key role of providing the basis for the federal nutrition program and nutritional education policies. The days are not too far, when the school lunches include a few vegetarian dishes.
These guidelines explain that grain products, vegetables, and fruits contain vitamins, carbohydrates, fiber, and other substances important for good health and that consumption of these foods is associated with a substantially lower risk for many chronic diseases,
