________________ 24 Tirthankars Pratishtha Mahotsava The Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago will celebrate the auspicious ceremony of Pratishtha Mahotsava of 24 Tirthankars On June 28, 29, 30 and July 1, 1995 at the Jain Temple 435 North Route #59 Bartlett, IL 60103 The four days of festivities will precede the 8th Biennial JAINA Convention. It will involve the installation of the pratimas of all 24 Trithankars, around the inner sanctum of the temple. This ceremony represents the purification process of the sacred pratimas of the Lords. These Pratimas are made of marble and are sculpted in meditative postures, in token of the possessionless state of the Lord Arihantas. During the four days of festivities, participants will be able to witness an important and rare event, and enjoy a series of religious and cultural activities. There will be gheeboli for the following nine pratimas: Shri Aadinath Shri Vasupujyaswami Shri Neminath Shri Mahavirswami Shri Ajitnath Shri Sankheshwar Parshvanath Shri Mallinath Shri Chandraprabhuji Shri Shantinath The opening bids for the gheeboli is set at $41,001 for the nine Tirthankar pratimas. The remaining 15 pratimas will be awarded for a fix donation of $41,001, The deadline for awarding of these pratimas is March 31, 1995, which will facilitate ordering of Shvetamber or Digamber pratimas. A maximum of five families may join together for each pratima gheeboli or a fired donation of $41,001.
