He studied under Brāhmin Pandits Nyāya ( Logic ), Vyākaraņa (Grammar ), Jyotişa ( Astronomy-cum-Astrology ), Mathematics, six systems of philosophy (Darśanas ) and Śaiva Šāstra as in Cintāmani. 1 After his return in V. S. 1607, Hiraharsa was made a Pandit at Nadulāi (Marwār ). He was promoted as Vacaka? in V. S. 1608 ( A. D. 1552 ). In V. S. 1610 (A. D. 1554 ) Vijaya Dāna Sūri conferred on Hiraha. rsa HV.) the Surī-ship (the title Ācārya ) on the 5th day of bright half of Pausa. 'After his Suri-ship, he was renamed as “ HiraVijaya Sūri.” He bacame de jure head of Tapāgaccha, soon after Suriji's teacher passed away on the 12th day of the bright half of Vaišākha V. A special feature of this ceremony is that the old Acārya 'seats' his pupil ( established him on his post of an Acārya ) and bows down to him formally once only.
