________________ 10 શ્રી મહાવીર જૈન વિદ્યાલય સુવર્ણમહોત્સવ ગ્રન્થ મોટાઓનો આ માર્ગ ભારતવર્ષમાં જ છે એમ નથી; પાશ્ચાત્ય વિચારકોને પણ આ માર્ગ વ્યક્ત થયો છે. “જે પર તાર્કિક ફિલસૂફો પરસ્પર જુદા પડે છે, તત્પરત્વે મિસ્ટિક સુફીઓ સંમત થાય છે.” એફ. સી. હેપોડ (F. C. Happold) એના “મિસ્ટિસિઝમ-અધ્યયન અને ભતસમુચ્ચય” (Mysticism-A study and an Anthology) નામના ગ્રંથના પ્રારંભમાં આ પર પોતાનો અભિપ્રાય આપતાં કહે છે કે "What, when one studies the mystical expressions of different religions, stands out most vividly, however, is not so much the differences as the basic similarities of vision. This is a phenomenon calling for explanation if any truly objective assessment of the significance of mystical experience is to be made." (p. 17). જુદા જુદા ધર્મોના મિટિકલ વચનોનો જયારે કોઈ અભ્યાસ કરે છે ત્યારે જે બાબત બહુ સ્પષ્ટ રીતે આગળ નીકળી આવે છે તે તેમના ભેદ એટલા બધા નહિ, જેટલી દર્શનની મૂલગત સમાનતાઓ. જો મિસ્ટિકલ અનુભવના તાત્પર્યનું સાચું વાસ્તવિક મૂલ્યાંકન કરવું હોય તો આ હકીકતનો ખુલાસો શોધવો જોઈએ.” આનો ખુલાસો હરિભદ્રસૂરિની જ્ઞાનતત્વની મીમાંસામાં છે. અતીન્દ્રિયાર્થને વિષય કરતા યોગિજ્ઞાનને જ્ઞાનમીમાંસામાં (Epistemology)માં સ્થાન આપવાથી જ તે થશે,-સિવાય કે એ અનુભવોને ઈન્દ્રજાલકે મૃગજલ સમું માની અવગણીએ !
