Progress essentially demands change. Jain tradition too was on the verge of this change. From a long past, it has well established doctrines and practices of Mahavarata (great vows) and Anuvrata (small vows). It was the need of hour to have a middle path between these two. Former, being principally and practically strict constrained flourishment of Jainism beyond set boundaries. Latter, being practiced by the lay followers were bound by social responsibilities. Thus a new order which could pave the way between this two was visualized by the great legends of our modern times H.H. Acharya Shri Tulsi and H.H. Acharya shri Mahaprgyaji. They set an admirable example before the world by introducing a new order in the name of Samana Shreni. With an objective of dynamic personality development, consisting of spiritual and scientific base and under the spiritual guidance of present Acharya it was all well planned to be introduced.
Commrncement
This order in name of Samna Shareni was officially commenced on 9th November, 1980 at the auspicious occasion of 66th birthday of H.H.Acharya Shri Tulsi. It started with a very small figure of six Mumukshu (willing to get initiated) sisters, who were the pioneer of this order. The present figure of this order has crossed century making it two hundred ten till the date. From this ninety has ascended
