________________ We currently transform some 4000 tonnes per year of cereals and pulses per year out of organic culture. We promote cereals, vegetables and fruits as the basis of the human nutritional plan, hence (semi) vegetarianism. We would be very pleased if we could have a contribution form yourself or Mr. S.M. Jain for our jublee book next year. 18. Copy of letter No. OH/fp/1 of dated 01-11-1985 from Mr. Ole Hamann, Plants Officer, International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, Switzerland to S.M. Jain. Dear Dr. Jain, Many thanks for your letter of 22nd October and the enclosed project outline. Unfortunately, the copy of your paper "Forest for Food and Development" was not enclosed .1 would certainly like to read it if you would forward a copy to me. The project idea represented is very interesting and represent a comprehensive way of looking at conservation and development. The long-term commitment from a funding agency to implement such a project is, however, outside the reach of our modest IUCN/WWF Plants Conservation Programme. Such commitment should be sought directly from organisation like FAO and major aid-agencies. On a more technical level, I think that an in situ conservation element should be included in such a project to ensure that those priority forest species on which the project will be based also will be ensured survival in the wild. 19. Copy of letter No. ESRF/3560 dated 25-04-1985 from Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, Secretary, Economic and Scientific Research Foundation, FICCI, New Delhi to S.M. Jain. Dear Mr. Jain Please refer to your letter of 12th April addressed to D. N. 142 For Private & Personal Use Only Jain Education International www.jainelibrary.org
