in Orissan temples. Jina or Tīrthankaras : Beings highest in Jaina worship, also called Devādhideva. The Jaina religion's name is or Arhat derived from the word Jina. The Tirthankara means maker of a Tirtha and 'forder' between
the material and spiritual worlds. Arhat, more ancient expression for the Jina, means deserving worship. Jina means invincible or one who has completely won over the desire
