________________ 19 will not be emancipated and so on The Individual Soul is really identical with the everpure and the ever-free Brahman, but from the practical (Vyavahara) stand-point, we may say that the former is in Bondage and different from the latter, and hence, the Individual Soul which is in Bondage should observe the rules and practices of Morality, as laid down by the Scriptures in order to attain the status of Brahman. In this way, the Advaita pantheists admit the reality of Bondage and Emancipation from practical point of view and the utility of moral rules and practices With regard to this position, the Jaina thinkers point out that the very fact of the admission by the Vedintins of the practical reality of the world is proof enough that the individual Souls are really infinite in number and variety, that they are in Bondage from the beginning-less time, and that Right Faith, Right Knowledge and Right Conduct are the way to their Emancipation.
