JAYANTI BHAI SANGHVI FROM AHMEDABAD TAKES OVER AS PRESIDENT OF BHARAT JAIN MAHA-MANDAL - Shri Jayanti Bhai Sanghvi, an industrialist and a devoted Jain from Ahmedabad was elected recently as President of Bharat Jain Mahamandal. In a meeting of Mahamandal, he called upon the Jains belonging to all sects to come together and celebrate forth-coming Mahavir Jayanti in a whole-hearted manner with a sense of unity. All Jain groups should come together under one banner and work work with full zeal to make the celebrations grand and unique. Many eminent members of Mahamandal, including Shri Shubh Karan Ji Surana, Shri Prakash Bhai Shah, Shri Jaswant Kothari and others were present at the meeting and extended their full cooperation. Shri Jayanti Bhai stressed on the need to work assiduously towards education, unity in the community and service to humanity.
SHRI ATMAVALLABH JAIN UNIVERSITY TO BE ESTABLISHED AT BHIVADI Jain University is soon going to be established at Bhivadi in Maharashtra on the inspiration of Acharya Shri Vallabh Surishwar Ji Maharaj by the collective efforts of Shwetambar Jain Murti-Pujak sangh. A site for the University has been chosen covering a total area of 40 sq. km. at Vill. Padhgha, about 22 km. from Bhivadi 7 km. off the Thane-Nasik road. The foundation-laying ceremony was held recently in the presence of Acharya Ratnakar Surishwar Ji Maharaj. The entire work of design and construction is being taken up under his guidance. It is understood that the University will be composed of a Jain Temple, Gurukal, Mahavir Jain Vidhyalaya, Mahavir Jain College, Engineering College and eight other vocational colleges. A Trust, by the name of Shri Vijay Vallabh Vidhyanagar Trust has been established and registered. Mr. Bhanwar Lal Moti Lal Palrecha has been appointed the first President of the University.
