Lokesh was honoured for his work on the cause of peace, non violence, spiritualism and religious tolerance. Stating that the world is passing through difficult a situation, the Mayor stressed on the role played by leaders like Muni to establish communal harmony and peace. In his address, Lokesh, urged leaders of all religions to find ways and means to propagate peace and brotherhood, as terrorism is wrecking destruction all across the world. Later, the Mayor also visited the Jain temple where some 800 Jains community members welcomed the Mayor.
