INTRODUCTION
(1) The words which do not yield more than one sense, are well
known and are used profusely, are noted but all the places where they occur are not noted, that is, only some places
are noted. These words are marked by the sign . (2) The words that yield many senses are noted, specifically
mentioning different senses in which they are employed at all the different places; these places are noted. See the words ajja, ajjä, ajjuna, attha, addha, attha, āu, autta, äesa,
.... sad, saddha, seya etc. (3) The different senses of a particular word occurring at
different places are noted on the basis of the VȚtti by
Ac. Abhayadevasūri. (4) A word occurring at several places on a single page is noted
mentioning only one place on that page. Readers desirous of knowing all the places on that page may read the whole
page. (5) Every verbal root is marked by an asterisk mark * and the
verbal forms of that root noted under it are marked by the sign -
(6) Basic word of pronoun is noted and under it are listed its
forms which are marked by the sign -
(7) To find out the intended word in the Appendix I request
readers to imagine all the possible alternative syllables of the word.
Appendix III (pp. 1547-1557) lists all the proper names with brief annotation, giving page numbers on which they occur. Please note that all the proper names pertaining to Urdhvaloka (Heavens) and Adholoka (Hells) are not enlisted. Hence, the proper names like Rayanappabhā, Sohamma will not be found here. For them, one should consult Appendix II.
Appendix IV (pp. 1558-1571) records all the variants pertaining to the text of the Viyahapannattisutta (Śataka 1 to 9), which are yielded by the Jesalmer Palm-leaf manuscript. The variants which represent correct original reading are marked by the sign I.
Appendix V (pp. 1572-1573) records the variants of the abovementioned Jesalmer manuscript that tally with the variants noted in the Tippana of the Viyahapannattisutta Part I, giving page numbers. The variants that represent the correct original reading are marked by the sign I.
