नक्षत्र का योग पाने पर (देव सम्बन्धी से मानव सम्बन्धी) पाहार, भव और शरीर का संक्रमण करते हुए गर्भरूप में अवतीर्ण हुआ।
३. श्रमण भगवान् महावीर तीन ज्ञान (मति, श्रुत, अवधि) से युक्त थे। 'मैं च्युत होऊंगा' ऐसा वे जानते थे। "मैं च्युतमान हूँ" यह वे नहीं जानते थे और "मैं च्युत हो गया हूं" ऐसा वे जानते थे। ४. जिस रात्रि में श्रमण भगवान् महावीर जालन्धर गोत्रीया देवानन्दा ब्राह्मणी को कुक्षि में गर्भरूप से उत्पन्न हुए, उस रात्रि में शय्या पर अर्धनिद्रावस्था में सोती हुई देवानन्दा ब्राह्मणी उदार, कल्याणकारक, शिवकारक, धन्य एवं मंगलकारक तथा शोभायुक्त ऐसे इन चौदह महास्वप्नों को देखकर जागृत हुई। ५. इन चौदह महास्वप्नों के नाम इस प्रकार हैं :१. हस्ति, २. वृषभ, ३. सिंह, ४. लक्ष्मीदेवी का अभिषेक, ५. पुष्पमाला, ६. चन्द्र, ७. सूर्य, ८. ध्वजा, ६. कुम्भ, १०. पद्मसरोवर, ११. सागर, १२. देव- विमान अथवा भवन, १३. रत्नराशि और १४. निर्धम अग्नि ।
Bhagvan Mahavira was conceived unto the womb at midnight, when the moon was in conjunction with the constellation uttaraphilguni. At that moment he entered into a new existence, with a new body and a new repast. At the moment of his conception Sramana Bhagvan Mahavira had a three-fold cognition: he was aware that he was about to descend from his heavenly state; he was not aware of the descent itself, but he was aware that he had descended. 4. On that night, when Bhagvān Mahavira descended unto the womb of Devananda, she lay half asleep on her bed. She saw fourteen wondrous dreams which were good, auspicious and sublime and were full of bounty, blessings and fortune.
The vision woke her up. 5. In her dreams, Devānanda had seen an elephant, a bull, a lion, the anoinment of Goddess Sri,a garland, the moon, the sun, a flag, an urn, a lotuspond, the sea, a vimina (celestial vehicle), a heap pond, the sea, a vinina (celestial ' of jewels and a burning fire. of
