की विराधना न हो इस प्रकार वह श्रमण व्यवहार करे। २५५. वर्षावास में रहे हुए पाणि-प्रतिग्राही- करपात्री भिक्षु को कणमात्र भी स्पर्श हो, इस प्रकार की बारीक । फुहारें पड़ती हों, तब भोजन अथवा पानी के लिये गृहस्थ कुलों की तरफ निकलना और प्रवेश करना नहीं कल्पता। २५६. वर्षावास में रहे हुए पात्रधारी श्रमण को । अविच्छिन्न धारा से वर्षा बरस रही हो, तब भोजन अथवा पानी के लिये गृहस्थकूलों की ओर निकलना और प्रवेश करना नहीं कल्पता। यदि अल्प वर्षा हो रही हो तब अन्दर सूती वस्त्र और उस पर ऊनी वस्त्र । पोढ़कर, तथा पात्र एवं रजोहरण को अच्छी तरह पाच्छादित कर भोजन अथवा पानी के लिये ग्रहस्थों के घरों की तरफ जाना और पाना कल्पता है। २५७. वर्षावास में रहे हए और गोचरी के लिये गृहस्थों के घरों की ओर गये हुए पात्रधारी श्रमण और श्रमरिणयों को जब रुक-रुक कर वर्षा बरस रही हो, तब बगीचे में झाड़ के नीचे, अथवा उपाश्रय के नीचे, अथवा विकट गृह (खुले घर) में, अथवा वृक्ष के नीचे जाना कल्पता है।
255. Monks and runs, who have just their palms as their begging bowls, should not start on their round of alms towards house-holders' houses, seeking food stuffs or drinks, if it be raining and if the falling drops be large enough to be felt on the body. 256. Monks and nuns who carry bowls, should not go seeking alms towards house-holders' homes when it is raining hard. They may go out if the rain be slight, provided they take care to cover themselves with an under-garment and an overgarment.
