The best of courtesans danced. Narrators told tales with accompanying sounds of music, Mrdariga-drums resounded harmoniously. Eyes could feast on garlands of fresh flowers every where. The towns-people and the village-people celebrated the festivities with great jubiliance and merry-making. 100. During the ten-day sthiti-pratijya festivities, king Siddhartha performed a hundred and a thousand and a hundred-thousand sacred sacrifices. He gave away as gifts a hundred, a thousand and a hundred-thousand measures of wealth and received an equal amount in presents.
उत्सव में निरन्तर मृदंग बजते रहे । स्थान-स्थान पर ताजे फूलों की मालाएं लटकाई गई । नगर और देश के सभी मानव प्रमुदित और क्रीडापरायण हुए। इस प्रकार दस दिन तक पुत्र जन्मोत्सव होता रहे ऐसी व्यवस्था की गई। १००. तत्पश्चात् वह सिद्धार्थ राजा दस दिन तक कूल-मर्यादानुसार जो उत्सव चल रहा था उसमें सैकड़ों, हजारों और [लाखों रुपये, यागों (देवपूजामों), दानों
और भागों को देता और दिलाता तथा सैकड़ों, हजारों, [लाखों] उपहार स्वीकार करता और करवाता हुआ रहने लगा। १०१. अनन्तर श्रमण भगवान् महावीर के मातापिता पहले दिन कुल-परम्परानुसार (पुत्र जन्म के निमित्त करने योग्य) अनुष्ठान करते हैं, तीसरे दिन चन्द्र और सूर्य के दर्शन का उत्सव करते हैं, छठे दिन धर्मजागरिका अर्थात् रात्रि-जागरण करते हैं, ग्यारहवां दिन व्यतीत होने पर, अशुचि निवारण के समस्त कार्य पूर्ण हो जाने पर जब वारहवां दिन पाया तब विपुल परिमारण में भोजन, पानी, खाद्य और स्वाद्य पदार्थ तैयार कराते हैं। भोजनादि सामग्री तैयार करवा कर अपने मित्रों, ज्ञातिजनों, स्वजनों, सम्बन्धियों और परिवारवालों को तथा
