को इधर-उधर फैलायो और स्थान-स्थान पर फूलों के गुच्छे (गुलदस्ते) रखवायो। प्रज्वलित कृष्णागर, श्रेष्ठ कुन्दुरु और तुरुष्क की सुगन्धित धूप से मघमघायमान और सुगन्ध से रमणीय बनवायो। यत्र-तत्र श्रेष्ठ सुगन्धित चूर्णों का छिड़काव कर सुगन्धित गुटिका के समान महक उठे ऐसा करवायो।
नट, नर्तक, जल्ल (रस्सी पर खेल बताने वाले), मल्ल (पहलवान), मौष्टिक (मुष्टि से लड़ने वाले), विदूषक, कथावाचक, प्लवग (कूदने वाले), लासक (रासक्रीडा करने वाले), भविष्य बताने वाले, लंख (बांस पर खेलने वाले), मंख (चित्र बताने वाले), तृणवादक, वीणावादक, तालवादक आदि अपनी-अपनी कलाओं। से नागरिकों का मनोरंजन करें ऐसी व्यवस्था स्वयं करो और दूसरों से करायो । ऐसी व्यवस्था स्वयं कर और दूसरों से करवाकर हजारों यूप (बैलगाड़ी के जूए) और हजारों मूसल ऊंचे स्थान पर रखवादो। यह कार्य संपन्न कर मझे मेरी आज्ञा प्रत्यर्पित करो-कार्यसम्पन्नता की सूचना दो।" १८. उसके पश्चात वे नगररक्षक सिद्धार्थ राजा की उक्त प्रकार की प्राज्ञा को सुनकर हर्षित हए, यावत् उनका हृदय प्रफुल्लित हुमा। उन्होंने हाथ जोड़ कर यावत् सिद्धार्थ राजा के आदेश को विनयपूर्वक स्वीकार । किया। आदेश को स्वीकार कर वे शीघ्र ही कुण्डपुर नगर में कारागृह से बन्दियों की मुक्ति
Let incense from the best käláguru, kunduru and turuska saturate the town with its overpowering scent and let bunches of sweet-smelling flowers of five different hues be placed everywhere. Let the over-hanging perfume turn the town into a veritable incense-stick. Go and arrange for play-actors, dancers, ropetricksters (jalla), wrestlers, boxers, jumping-acrobats, clowns, story-tellers, ballad-singers, folkdancers (lisaka), narrators (acakhyaka), stiltdancers, picture-canvas-bearers (maikha), tinaplayers, tumba-vinti-players and narrators who sing ballads with drum-playing. Let them all display their art. Also have yilpa-pillars and thick mace-likepillars (musala) put up. Then report to me.
