कल्याणप्रद और श्रेष्ठ स्नान क्रिया पूर्ण होने पर रोएँदार, मुलायम, सुगन्धित लालवस्त्र (तौलिया) से शरीर को पोंछते हैं। पश्चात् अक्षत-नवीन एवं बहुमूल्य वस्त्र धारण करते हैं । शरीर पर सरस और सुगन्धित गोशीर्ष चन्दन का लेप करते हैं। पवित्र माला पहनते हैं और शरीर पर अंगराग लगाते हैं। मरिणयों से जड़े हये स्वर्ण निर्मित हार, अर्द्धहार, त्रिशर के हार गले में धारण करते हैं । लंबा और लटकते हुये झुमके वाला कटिसूत्रकरधनी धारण कर सुशोभित होते हैं । उन्होंने कण्ठ में कण्ठे धारण किये, अंगुलियों में सुन्दर मुद्रिकायें-अंगूठियां पहनीं। विविध मणिरत्नों से जटित स्वर्ण के श्रेष्ठ कड़े और भुजबन्ध से उसकी भुजाएं अटल हो गई। इससे सिद्धार्थ का सौन्दर्य अधिक दीप्तिमान हो उठा । कुण्डल पहनने से उसका मुख चमकने लगा। मुकुट धारण करने से उसका मस्तक कान्ति से पालोकित हो उठा। हारों से आछन्न हृदय दर्शनीय बन गया। धारण की हुई मुद्रिकाओं की पीतवर्णी आभा से अंगुलियां चमकने लगीं। पश्चात् सिद्धार्थ ने लम्बा लटकता हुआ उत्तरीय वस्त्र सुन्दर रीति से धारण किया और चतुर कलाकारकारीगरों द्वारा निर्मित विविध मणि-रत्नों से स्वर्णजटित, विमल, बहुमूल्य, देदीप्यमान, दृढ़ सांधोवाला, विशिष्ट सुन्दर वीरवलय धारण किया। अधिक वर्णन । क्या किया जाए!
After this excellent beneficial bath which offered a hundred delights, Siddhartha was rubbed dry with a fuzzy and soft red-coloured perfumed towel. His body was anointed with a fragrant and unctuous paste made of sandal and gośirşa and sweet-smelling ointments were applied to his person. He then clothed himself in magnificent and expensive apparel. He wore a lustrous garland and an exquisite necklace studded with gems and woven with gold : the necklace comprised large and small strings of eighteen and nine and three beads and was adorned with hanging pendants. He wore a girdle, a chain and also finger-rings which were exquisitely beautiful. His fore-arms were graced with magnificent armlets (kataka) and with the trutika ornament. He put on an upper garment frilled with jewelled trimmings. His adornments heightened the natural grace of his handsome figure : his chest glittered with beautifully-made necklaces; finger-rings gave a goldbrown hue to his fingers, earrings lent lustre to bis face and his head shone bright with a crown.
