great kingdom with large armies and numerous carriages." With these words, Siddhartha acclaimed Trišala's vision. He repeated his words twice and then thrice. 55. On hearing king Siddhartha's words, Trisala was transported with joy. With folded palms placed on her forehead-all ten fingers touchingshe bowed to Siddhartha and exclaimed :
होगा। अत: तुमने जो उदार यावत महास्वप्न देखे हैं वे सब प्रत्युत्तम हैं।" इस प्रकार सिद्धार्थ क्षत्रिय दो बार- तीन बार अर्थात् पुनः-पुनः प्रशंसा करता है। ५५. उसके पश्चात् वह त्रिशला क्षत्रियाणी सिद्धार्थ राजा के मुख से इस प्रकार स्वप्नों के अर्थ को सुनकर, हृदय में धारगा कर हर्षित हुई, सन्तुष्ट हुई, यावत् प्रफोल्लत हदय वाली होकर, दशों नख संयुक्त हों इस प्रकार दोनों करतलों को जोडकर, शिर पर पावर्त पूर्वक अंजलि किये हुए इस प्रकार बोली : ५६. "हे स्वामिन ! यह ऐसा ही है। हे स्वामिन् ! जैसा आपने कहा है वैसा हो है । हे स्वामिन् ! पापका कथन सत्य है । हे स्वामिन् ! यह असंदिग्ध-संदेहरहित है । हे स्वामिन् ! यह अभिलषित-इष्ट है । हे स्वामिन् ! यह प्रतीच्छित-प्रमाणित है । हे स्वामिन् ! यह इच्छित और प्रमाणित है। इस प्रकार आपने जो स्वप्न-फल बताया है, वह सत्य है।" ऐसा कहकर वह स्वप्नों के पूर्वोक्त अर्थ को सम्यक रूप से स्वीकार करती है। उन स्वप्नों के अर्थ को सम्यक् प्रकार से स्वीकार कर, सिद्धार्थ राजा की प्राज्ञा लेकर, अनेक प्रकार के मणिरत्नों से जड़े हुए भद्रासन से उठती है। भद्रासन से उठकर, अत्वरित, अचपल, असम्भ्रान्त, अविलम्बित, राजहंसी के समान मन्थर गति से जहां स्वयं का शयनकक्ष है, वहां प्राती है। वहां आकर

56. “You are uttering the truth, my lord. You are expressing a certainty. What you say is inevitable, there is not a shred of doubt about it. And it is desirable, my lord, it is extremely desirable, it is desirable beyond compare." And having thus expressed her commendation of Siddhartha's words, she rose from her ornamented chair, and with Siddhartha's leave, walked back to her bed, with the grace and easeful gait of a regal swan.
