[272]. Jiva-sthanas in Chhakaṇḍāgama
[1, 9-1, 35] The nama-karma called Nyagrodha-parimaṇḍala-śarīra-saṃsthāna, Svāti-śarīra-saṃsthāna, Kubja-śarīra-saṃsthāna, Vāmana-śarīra-saṃsthāna, and Huṇḍa-śarīra-saṃsthāna. 34.
The nama-karma called Samacaturaśra-saṃsthāna, by whose arising the body of the jīvas becomes beautiful and well-proportioned in the upper, lower, and middle parts. The term 'Nyagrodha' means the banyan tree. The nama-karma called Nyagrodha-parimaṇḍala-saṃsthāna, by whose arising the structure of the jīva's body is extensive above the navel and diminished below, like the circumference of the banyan tree. The term 'Svāti' means the bamboo of a snake and also the Semara tree. The nama-karma called Svāti-saṃsthāna, by whose arising the structure of the body is diminished above the navel and extensive below, like the bamboo of a snake. The nama-karma called Kubja-śarīra-saṃsthāna, by whose arising there is a very pudgala-like hunchbacked body in the back part. The nama-karma called Vāmana-saṃsthāna, by whose arising there is a dwarfish body with all the limbs and appendages diminished. The nama-karma called Huṇḍa-śarīra-saṃsthāna, by whose arising the structure of the body parts is uneven, like a bag filled with uneven stones.
That which is the nama-karma of the body-parts and appendages is of three types - Audārika-śarīrāṅgopāṅga-nāma, Vaikriyika-śarīrāṅgopāṅga-nāma, and Āhāraka-śarīrāṅgopāṅga-nāma. 35.
The nama-karma called Audārika-śarīrāṅgopāṅga, by whose arising the limbs, appendages, and parts of the Audārika body arise. Similarly, the meaning of the other two Aṅgopāṅga-nāmas should be known. The Taijasa and Kārmaṇa bodies do not have limbs and appendages, as their parts like hands, feet, and neck are not possible.
The nama-karma called Śarīra-saṃghāṭana is of six types - Vṛṣabha-vajra-nārācaśarīra-saṃghāṭana-nāma, Vajra-nārācaśarīra-saṃghāṭana-nāma, Nārācaśarīra-saṃghāṭana-nāma, Ardha-nārācaśarīra-saṃghāṭana-nāma, Kīlaka-śarīra-saṃghāṭana-nāma, and Asaṃprāpta-asṛpāṭikā-śarīra-saṃghāṭana-nāma. 36.
The accumulation of bones is called Saṃghāṭana. The term 'Vṛṣabha' means a sheath. The nama-karma called Vṛṣabha-vajra-nārācaśarīra-saṃghāṭana, by whose arising the bones are vajra-like, enveloped by a vajra-like sheath, and pierced by vajra-like nārācas. The nama-karma called Vajra-nārācaśarīra-saṃghāṭana, by whose arising the above-mentioned bone-binding is without the vajra-like sheath.
