एक परमाणुका एक आकाशके प्रदेशसे दूसरेपर मन्दगतिसे जानेका काल ।
एक स्वस्थ मनुष्यके एक वार श्वास लेने और निकालनेमें जितना समय लगता है, उसे उच्छास कहते हैं । एक मुहूर्तमें इन उच्छासोंकी संख्या ३७७३ कही गई है जो ऊपर बतलाये गये प्रमाण के अनुसार इस प्रकार आती है- २४३८३४७४७=३७७३ । एक अहोरात्र ( २४ घण्टे ) में ३७७३४३ ०=१,१३,१९० उच्छास होते हैं। इसका प्रमाण एक मिनिटमें ३४४३ ७८.६ आता है, जो आधुनिक मान्यताके अनुसार ठीक बैठता है ।
एक समय कम मुहूर्तको भिन्न मुहूर्त कहते हैं । भिन्न मुहूर्तमें से भी एक समय और कम करनेपर उत्कृष्ट अन्तर्मुहूर्त्तका प्रमाण होता है । कुछ आचार्योंकी मान्यताके अनुसार भिन्न मुहूर्त और अन्तर्मुहूर्त पर्यायवाची ही हैं। आवलीकालमें एक समय और जोड़ देनेपर सर्व जघन्य अन्तर्मुहूर्त होता है। इस सर्व जघन्य अन्तर्मुहूर्त्तके ऊपर एक एक समय बढ़ाते हुए उत्कृष्ट अन्तमुहूर्त्तके प्राप्त होने तक मध्यवर्ती सर्व भेद मध्यम अन्तर्मुहूर्त्तके जानना चाहिए।
पन्द्रह दिनका एक पक्ष, दो पक्षका एक मास, दो मासकी एक ऋतु, तीन ऋतुओंका एक अयन, दो अयनका एकै वर्ष, पांच वर्षका एक युग, चौरासी लाख वर्षका एक पूर्वांग, चौरासीलाख पूर्वांगका एक पूर्व होता है । इससे आगे चौरासी लाख चौरासी लाखसे गुणा करते जानेपर नयुतांग-नयुत; कुमुदांग-कुमुद, पंमांग-पद्म, नलिनांग-नलिन, कमलांग-कमल, त्रुटितांग त्रुटित, अटटांग-अटट, अममांग-अमम, हाहांग-हाहा, हूहांग-हूहू, लतांग-लता और महालतांग-महालता आदि अनेक संख्या राशियां उत्पन्न होती हैं जो सभी मध्यम संख्यातके ही अन्तर्गत जानना चाहिए ।
ऊपर जो पूर्वके ऊपर नयुतांग आदि संख्याएं बतलाई गई हैं, उनसे प्रकृतमें कोई सम्बन्ध नहीं हैं । हां, प्रस्तुत ग्रन्थमें पूर्व कोडी और कोडाकोडी आदिके नामवाली संख्याओंका अवश्य उपयोग हुआ है । एक करोड पूर्व वर्षोंको एक पूर्वकोटी वर्ष कहते हैं । कर्म भूमिज मनुष्य और तिर्यंचोंकी उत्कृष्ट आयु एक पूर्व कोटी वर्ष ही बतलाई गई है । एक कोटी प्रमाण संख्याके वर्गको कोडाकोड़ी कहते हैं। कोटीसे ऊपर और कोडाकोडीके नीचेकी मध्यवर्ती संख्याको अन्तःकोडाकोडी कहते हैं । इन तीन संख्याओंका और इनसे ही सम्बद्ध कोडाकोडाकोडी आदि संख्याओंका प्रस्तुत ग्रन्थमें प्रयोग देखा जाता है ।
