In the Chakkhandagama, the number of Jivas (living beings) is as follows:
246. Among the Samyatas (restrained ones), the Upaśāntakasāya-Vītarāga-Kṣhapaka Jivas are innumerable (asaṃkhyāta) times more.
247. The Kṣhīṇakasāya-Vītarāga-Chadmastha Jivas are of the same number as mentioned above.
248. Among the Samyatas, the Sajogakevali and Ajogakevali Jinas are equal in terms of their entry (pravēśana).
249. The Sajogakevali Jinas are innumerable (asaṃkhyāta) times more than the previous ones in terms of their accumulation period.
250. The Apramatta-Saṃyata Jivas who are Akṣhapaka and Anupashāmaka are innumerable (asaṃkhyāta) times more than the Sajogakevali Jinas.
259. The Pramatta-Saṃyata Jivas are innumerable (asaṃkhyāta) times more than the Apramatta-Saṃyata Jivas.
252-253. Among the Pramatta-Saṃyata and Apramatta-Saṃyata, the Upashama-Samyagdṛṣṭi Jivas are the least in number, and the Kṣhāyika-Samyagdṛṣṭi Jivas are innumerable (asaṃkhyāta) times more than them.
254. The Vēdaka-Samyagdṛṣṭi Jivas are innumerable (asaṃkhyāta) times more than the Kṣhāyika-Samyagdṛṣṭi Jivas.
255-259. Similarly, the number of Jivas in the three Guṇasthānas of Apūrvakaraṇa, etc., should be understood in relation to Samyaktva (right faith).
