were not directly in the line of Aryamangu, Dharma being only Vidya-Shishya of Arya Mangu. That Vajraswami was the Vidya Shishya of Bhadra Gupta is definitely knowr. In both the lines of thọ descendants viz. of Diksha-Shishyas and Vidya-Shishyas Padlipta Suri is as much removed from Arya Mangu in the one line as Vajraswami in the other. Their being contemporaries therefore becomes 1 absolutely cartain. The difficulty in ascertaining Padlipta's date is due to his not being in the main line 1 of Acharyas and also due to difference betwoen the Kalpa Sutra and Nandi Sutra Pattavalis-due in its turn to difference in Vallabhi and Mathuri Vachanas. The next reference is by Jinabhadragani-Kshama-10 Shramana in his Visheshavashyaka-Bhashya, to Tarangavati of Padlipta as follows:जहवा निद्दिश्यसा वासवदत्ता तरंगवइयाई । तह निद्देसगवसओ लोए मणुरुखवाउ ति ॥ १५०८ ॥
श्रीविशेषावश्यकभाष्य । The third reference is by Haribhadra Suri in his commentary on Avashyaka Sutra to Padlipta as ran instance of Vaineyiki Buddhi as follows:-गठिमि-पाडलिपुत्ते-मुरुडो राया, पालित्ता आयरिया तत्थ जाणएहिं इमाणि विसजियाणि सुतं मोहि-15 पाययं लट्ठी समा समुग्गकीत्ति केणवि ण णायाणि पालित्तायरिया सहाविया तुम्मे जाणइ भगवति ? बाढं जाणामि सुतं उण्होदहे छुढं मयणं विराय दिहाणि अग्गग्गाणि, 15 | दंडओ पाणिए छूढो, मूलं गुरुय, समुग्गओ जउणा घोलिओ उण्होदए कडिओ उग्धाडिओ य, तेणवि ओद्वियं सयलग राइलेऊण रयणाणि छूढाणि, तेण सीवणीए | सिविऊण विसज्जियं अदिभ देत्ता निष्फेडह ण, सकियं पादलित्तयस्स येणइगी ॥
