________________ 42 ANEKANTA - ISSN 0974-8768 There are two reasons for the negative status of the Soul - Pudgala and Jiva. The Jiva in its pure form is free from Ananta Darshana, Ananta Jnana, Ananta Sukha, Ananta Veerya". The activities filled with attachment, hatred, etc. are neither of the Pure Soul nor the Pudgala. In the similar manner, experiencing the limited knowledge, joy and sorrow, limited strength are the qualities of neither the Pure Soul nor the Pudgala. These are all the qualities of the Soul of the mundane world but these are the various stages of the Soul bound with Karmas in the mundane world". The capacity of motion is only in Jiva and Pudgala. The activities visible on the scaffold of the mundane world are the outcome of the activities of the Jiva and Pudgala together". The Jiva completely free from the Pudgala is only in the stage of wandering within the self and not in the position to bind new Karmas. The cause for the destruction of the Soul is its relationship with Pudgala and is also the cause for the bondage of Karmas. Acarya Kundakunda directs the practice for independence inspite of being bonded. The Jiva in-spite of possessing the capacity to see and know the things is unable to do so completely because of the bondage aligned with it" - Na vijaanadi savvado savvam. The subjugation covers the Knowledge, Faith, Happiness and such other qualities of the Soul; inspite of that it remains unknown to the Soul because both the Soul and the Karma are too small that they are invisible to the eyes of the common man. Acarya Kundakunda says that the Karma is incarnate and minute, whereas, the Soul is immaterial and minute 15. Since both the elements are minute, their process can be illustrated as a mixture of milk and water. Inspite of being two different entities the water and milk appears to be one when mixed. Unlike, the entity of the Milk is entirely different from water in a mixture, is as the Soul is from the Karma, from the Absolute point of view. Both the Soul and the Karma are independent.
