________________ 31 68/2, 3 -4, 2015 Wear and tear theory: According This view the cells, just as a meaning through continuous working undergoes wear and tear process as they become old and finally die. In early 1960s, Radiation included somatic mutation hypothesis contested that other theory of ageing which probably provoked more experience total work than any other, was somatic mutation theory, which hypothesized that death of cell is due to accumulation of mutations in ordinary somatic cells of the body and the ionizing radiation a very potent mutagenic agent is one of the most effective ways of short timing the life of experimental animals. The error catastrophe hypothesis: In 1963 Orgel suggested that progressive decrease in accuracy of protein synthesis might be one of the factors contributed age related deterioration of cells.2 Codon Restriction Hypothesis: Strechler (1967) the propounder of this theory suggests that as a result of differentiation, cell loses the ability to translate genetic information. Free radical hypothesis: According to this hypothesis the freeradicals (unpaired electrons) are left out, due to oxidation taking place in the cells. And these free-radicals in turn damage the nucleic acids of cells (DNA) thus leading to death of the cell.? Programme theory: Development, differentiation and programmed senescence is two outcome concept of codon restriction theory according to which, senescence is the result of genetic programme that bring about differentiation is accepted. According to Kanugo H.S. (1999) Ageing is passive process that occur from failure of the organism or the system to maintain various activities. All activities are controlled by enzymes and proteins, which in turn are coded by genes. It is due to failure
