The name Anandaghana we never meet with on the whole range of Jain Literature except here. The name is rather a rare one. The name one may think savours of Vedantism. In
ETIEUTA F17E one finds the following passage. विज्ञानघन एव एतेभ्यो भूतेभ्यः अमुत्थाय तान्येव विलीयते न प्रत्य संज्ञास्ति. २-८
The passage is discussed at great length in comentaries on the Kalpasutra In diafrinaer the various forms of an are given for worship. 399Fer Feryarefall But wared still our scriptures describe Nirvana or final beatitude as full of joy etc. Anandaghana, as his name implies, has given a great impor. tance to this essential point of Nirvana in his Padas as is plain from his pada 52; the meaning being as follows:
“My life is instinct with joy, my harmony is a compact of Joy.
Briefly speaking to him the whole world is full of Joy. We can at once without any hesitation say that this element of his philosophy is consonent with Jain philosophy. The true nature of beatitude is aptly given in ihe following verse of हेमाचार्य,
सादिकर्मानन्त मनुपममव्याबाधं स्वभावजं सारैव्यम् । प्राप्तः स केवल ज्ञान दर्शानो मोदते मुक्तः ॥
E FNT TIET. “An emancipated Suul endowed with perfect knowledge and sight, regoice, having got unparalleled unobstructed and inherentbliss which has got a beginning but not an end (compभांगे सााद अनंत of आनन्दधन) This is the goal of every being tired of the miseries of this life. The more and more he breaks of these physical letters which find down his soul, the more and more le can soar high above and realize the pure Soul.
