A CHRISTMAS APPEAL
TO
EARNEST CHRISTMAS..! LADIES & GENTLEMEN,
You believe, as we Jains do, that Blessed are the Merciful, for they shall obtain Mercy, and that whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
I therefore pray that during the sacred Christmas days you may be pleased to think of the terrible sufferings of poor animals in trains, ships, markets and slaughter houses, and to do something to stop them.
: I also pray that you may be pleased to discourage the des. truction of harmless, timid birds and quadrupeds in the name of sport, for the sake of 'mere amusement as there is no man. liness in it.
If you will, kindly grant my above prayers you will earn a multitude of blessings.
