AN APPEAL
TO
TEMPERANCE WORKERS IN INDIA. DEAR SIR OR MADAM,
It is a well-known fact that inspite of earnest efforts of Temperance Societis, the drink evil is increasing in India. The root of evil is flesh-eating as is scientifically proved, by Dr. A. HAIG and others. The Salvatian Army in London actually cures drunkards of their crave by giving them vegetarian diet only.
I therefore beg you to kindly read the enclosed leaflet, A Terrible evil in England and to be so good as to preach to the people the advantages of the vegetarian diet in overcoming the drink crave.
I shall be obliged if you will kindly favour me with your opinion on the above subject.

PRIZE-EXAMINATION
FOR
MEDICAL STUDENTS.
A prize-examination in Perfect Way in Diet by Dr. Anna Kingsford and Diet and Food by Dr. A. Haig will be held for the benefit of the Students of the Grant Medical College, Bombay, in July, 1909, and cash prizes of (1) Rs. 100, (2) Rs. 40, (3) Rs. 30, (4) Rs. 20, and (5) Rs. 10, respectively will be awarded to the first five successful candidates.
Copies of Perfect Way in Diet and Diet and Food may be had for As. 10 and Rs. 1-8-0, respectively from the office of Messrs. Visanji Sons & Co, Bruce Lane, Church Gate Street, Fort, Bombay.
A qualified medical gentlemen will be appointed as exami. ner, and the date of, as well as the place for, the examination may be learnt from the undersigned in June, 1909.
