In the body of the article non-English stray words/Sanskrit/Prakrit line/verse must be written either in Devanagari or in tansliteration with proper diacritical marks.
The source of citations/statements of any authority quoted should be invariably mentioned in the footnotes which must be written in the following order: (1) surname, initials of the author or editor, (2) title of the work, (underlined), (3) publisher, (4) place and year of pulication and (5) page no.
Whenever an abbreviation is used in an article, its full form should be stated at the first occurrence and should not be repeated. Give running foot-note numbers from the beginning to the end of the article.
The copyright of all the articles published in the Journal of the Oriental Institute will rest with the M.S. University of Baroda, Baroda.
