recognised lea lor of the first order of the Jain brother-hood. He read much, thought much and wrote much.
It is a great satisfaction to us, gentlemen, to know that Jains and non-Jains, Asiatics Europeans and Americans, without distinction of caste, creed or locality, drank equally from his springs of learning. Swamy Yogajewanand Saraswati, an Indian Sanyasi of great learning, turned out to be the greatest believer in Jainism by reading the Soori's great works and composed a verse in praise of the author which could be interpreted in 51 different ways. Dr. Hoernle, H.norary Secretary to the Royal Asiatic Society, Calcutta, approached Atmaramji Maharaj from time to time with some difficult and intricate questions on Jainism and received satisfactory answers from him. He has expressed his indeftedness to the Mooniraj in the following terms: -" In a third appendix I have put to gether some additional information that I have been able to gather since publishing the several fascicale. For some of this information, I am indebted to Mooni Maharaj Atmaramji Anandvijayji, the well known and highly respected Sadhu of the Jain community throughout India and author of (among others ) two very useful works in Hindi. The Jain Tat wadarsha and the Agnana Timic Bhaskar. My only regret is that I had not the advantage of his invaluable assistance from the beginning of my work.”
આ મહાત્માશ્રીનું કેળવણુ તરફ ઘણું જ સારું લક્ષ હતું. કારણ કે પિતે મહોટા વિદ્વાન હતા, ઉદાર મન્તવ્ય હતું, શેકવૃત્તિ હતી, અને વર્તન ઉચ્ચ હતું. તેમના ગુણે આપણું મનનાં આરોપીને આપણે પણ જે સદવર્તન કરીએ તો આ જયંતિને હેતુ સફળ છે એમ સમજાય.
એ પછી માંગરોળનિવાસી શેઠ છોટાલાલ પ્રેમજીએ મરહુમ પૂજ્યપાદ પ્રાતઃસ્મરણીય જૈનાચાર્ય શ્રી મદ્વિજ્યાનંદસૂરિ ઉફે આત્મારામજી મહારાજની બાબત બેલતાં જણાવ્યું કે–
