મિ ડાહ્યાભાઇનું ભાષણ. ते तीर्णा भव वारिधि मुनिवरा स्तेभ्यो नमस्कुर्महे । एषां नो विषयेषु गृध्यति मनो नो वा कषायैः प्लुतम् ॥ राग द्वेष विमुक् प्रशान्त कलुषं साम्याप्त शर्माद्वयं ।
नित्यं खेलति चाप्त संयम गुणा क्रोडे भजद्भावना ।।
આજે આપણે એક મહાત્માની જયંતિ ઉજવવા એકઠા થયેલા છીએ, તે મને હાત્માશ્રીનાં સંબંધમાં મહારાજ શ્રી વિચક્ષણવિજયજી, વિબુધવિજયજી તથા કસ્તવિજયજીએ ઘણું સમજાવેલું છતાં, બેલવા રજા લઉં છું કે આ મહાત્માશ્રીનું ચરિત્ર જોતાં ખ્યાલ થાય છે કે તેઓ એક મહા પુરૂષ હતા. મહાન પુરૂષની યંતિ ઉજવવાનો હેતુ પણ એજ જણાય છે કે તેમનામાં રહેલા ગુણે આપણું દષ્ટી સમક્ષ થવાથી આપણને તેમનું સ્મરણ થાય છે, અને તેવું ઉચ્ચ વર્તન બનાવવાને આપણે પણ ભાગ્યશાળી બની શકીએ છીએ. હવે હું તેઓ સાહેબના સંબંધમાં વધારે કહેવાને ટાઈમ ન રક્તાં, તેમને માટે બીજા પાશ્ચિમાત્ય વિદ્વાનોને શું મત હતો તે કહેવા રજા લઉં છું. પ્રસંગમાં એક વિદ્વાન કવીની બનાવેલી કવિતા પણ કહું છું.

Born as the son of a Kshatriya, he proved himself worthy, in his struggle life-long against Karma, of the much coveted leader ship of a holy band who gathered round the flag of a sacred war and who in the end got the wished for victory. Vijayanand Soori's erudition and his true conception of the teachings of our Lord Mahavir were unrivalled. Being the greatest scholar, he travelled far and vide and in his cyele of wanderings from the far off Punjab to Gujrat and Kathiawar he earned for himself a fame which was second to none in his time. He preached Jainism in its liberal sense and succeeded in convincing thousands of non-Jains of the theistic teachings of the most humane of all religions In recognition of his great services to Jainism he was honoured with the most valuable title of " Jainacharya" and as such he was the
