Dr. Mehrtens is a highly acclaimed international futurist and president of the Potiatch Group, a research organisation specialising in the analysis of business trends related to global evolutions and social change. She is a former university professor and author, co-author or editor of a number of books, among them The Fourth Wave: Business in the 21st Century, The LeapFrog Option and intuitive Imagery. She has a special interest in the future of South Africa, believing that the law of retarding lead is a key factor in understanding South Africa's potential positions in future global developments.
