________________ DASHALAXANA PURYUSHANA PARVA At Anaheim CA Buffalo NY Cincinnati OH Raleigh NC Jain center of So California celebrated the festivities for nine days under the spiritual guidance of Gurdev Chitrabhanu. As part of the program, there was one day camp for children and the youth council presented an excellent performance on Mahavira conception day. The day of Forgiveness was led by Mahendra Khandahar reading the Kalpa Sutra followed by a lecture by Gurdev Chitrabhanu and Mr S.N.Coenaka, visitor from India, spoke on Vipasana meditation. A total of ten people - Rupali ogani, Kavita Mehta, Tanvi Shah, Sunil Dharod, Heena Doshi, Parul Kapadia,'arimal Khandahar, Rita Savani, Meena Shah and Shorbhi Shah - observed fast for eight days. Jain socirty of Buffalo celebrated the Agamic festival of Forgiveness, the last day of the Parva, on September 13. The program began at 10.00 AM with Namokar Mantra initiated by a group of children and was followed by an hour long sthutis and stavans in solo and group. The artists were: Meena Shah, Vandana Jain, Monisha Jain, Kokila Chheda, Urmila Jain, Pramod Pahade, Jagat Jain and Abha Jain. Milan Chheda, a sixtenn year old, gave a short talk on the value and importance, both in deed and spirit, of this Agamic day of Forgiveness. Jagat Jain led the audience with the chanting of the original Prakrit verse seeking forgiveness, friendship and goodwill to one and all, friend and foe alike. Jain center of Cincinnati celebrated the festivity from August 21 to 28, 1987. During the period, daily programs consisted of Arihanta pooja and lectures by learned Jain scholar, Pandit Naresh Chand Doshi of Bombay, specially invited for the occasion. On Mahavira conception day, special events were organised and Presidents and leaders of other Indian religious and cultural groups attended the function.
