________________ MARCH 2015 PAGE No. 139 PRABUDHH JEEVAN Siddhasena Divakar - By Dr. Renuka Porwal, Mob.: 098218 77327 Born in Sanatan Hindu Tamily at Ujjain in early 4th century, Siddhsena had very good knowledge of four Vedas and Nyaya. Once he had a debate with Acharya Vriddhavadi in a king's court and defeated him. Later on he became his devotee and studied Jaina scriptures EHEIRALIENCHELLINEL HEALIESLEE HEATHEIRIE HEELSEAR HEALITE Once Siddhsena used the Sanskrit form of Navakarmantra and also wished to translate many Agamas into Sanskrit. His Guru didn't appreciate this and put him out of the Gaccha for few years. Later on, Siddhsena arrived at Kumar town, King Devpal of the state became his devotee. Once the king of Assam attacked the country. Siddhsena used his Vidya to produce a huge army and the enemy ran away. King Devpal was happy and conferred on him the title 'Divakar'-sun destroying the darkness. After this incident, he returned to Ujjain where Vikramaditya-ll welcomed him and listened to his sermons daily. Now his Guru Vriddhavadi decided to call him back. He came as a Palkhivala and held the Palakhi from one side. Being an old man he was a little slow in comparison to the other three. Siddhsena asked, "Is your shoulder giving you pain?" Here he used incorrect grammar& guru immediately corrected the sentence. Recognizing his Guru, Siddhsena realized his mistake and apologized to him He was a great poet of his time. He wrote 'SanmatiTark explaining Anekantvad. His other best work is 'Kalyan Mandir' Kavya which is to establish Kalyana or Shubha i.e. abode of auspiousness. Cecec co
