Indispensability of Self-Realization Owing to ultra-modern researches physicians are bound to accept that psycho-physical diseases can be cured through meditation. Dr. Venson writes in 'The Physiology of Meditation', "In modern society serious diseases like blood-pressure etc. because of mental disorder etc. cause excitement in sympathetic nervous system. In self- realization, the excitement subsided, diseases are cured automatically. Internal Background of Self-Realization We fully connect our mind through natural inhale-exhale with the sound of So’ham' diverting our attention from external environment. By repeated observation of the sound of So’ham', thought is gradually pacified, when thought are pacified we remain in soul. To remain in soul is the occurrence of meditation. Doing to being is meditation. We cannot pacify thought by force. The more we shall attempt to control thought; the series of thoughts will be on the rise. In Kāyotsargasūtra, it is mentioned, thāņeņam moņeņam jhāņeņam appāņam vosirāmi
I abandon myself with the steadiness of body, silence of speech and meditation.
