________________ 44 : Śramaņa, Vol 65, No. 2, April-June 2014 Sometimes, it appears mind is not stable in meditation but it becomes absorbed in prayer, self-study etc. It is because during prayer and self-study, mind receives new thoughts hence its fickleness is not noticed but during meditation because of single recourse the fickleness of mind is noted straightaway. Self- Realization Awakes in Restraint Meditation is very necessary for monks because without meditation enthusiasm and vigour in observing the vows is difficult. Some monks do live restrained life but without enthusiasm, their interest lacking in restraint. One may easily control the body and speech but to control the mind is very tough. Unless the mind is controlled the practice performed with speech and body is not much beneficial, inner is not connected with it. Meditation while restraining the mind, speech and body turns all the activities sentient. Restraint becomes quite interesting to the practitioner who is engrossed in meditation. Raso vai saḥ. He is Rasa and nothing is more blissful for him than meditation. Self-Realization is the Soul-Bath Bathing is two-fold: physical bath and that of soul. Purity of the body is achieved through bath by water, while that of soul is achieved by meditation. As water-bath makes our body fresh, neat and remove tiredness, in the same way through bath in form of meditation soul becomes pure. By taking bath in lake like meditation, getting rid of anger etc. passions, violence etc. demerits you become pure, enlightened, nirañjana, which is nature also. Self-Realization is the Bridge of Acceptance of Truth Every one professes to speak truth but rarely one likes to listen the bitter and harsh truth and only a hero is able to absorb this truth wholly. Only he can fully absorb the truth who has realized the truth within himself, who has perceived the truth within himself. Meditation nourishes tolerance and practice of meditation continuously leads
